Title Mag | Winter 2024

 





Title Mag ↗ is a creative community based in Cincinnati, OH; spanning worldwide with 100+ members of all ages and backgrounds. After three years on staff for Title, I was honored to take on the role of Creative Director for issue 008. In this role, I developed the theme and visual identity for the mag and promo, as well as oversaw the art direction and publication of all projects.

ISSUE 008 IDENTITY

While developing the theme for issue 008, Time, we were inspired by current events, the natural world, and books on space. I developed the visual identity around these ideas by incorporating elements such as displacement maps which are derived from time based media, the type face Redaction, as an allusion to decay, and circles, referencing the cyclal nature of time.




PRINT PACKAGE

The print package includes the 150+ page magazine, six tarot cards, a risograph calendar/poster, and a TITLE logo sticker.



ISSUE PAGES

Ellen and I collaborated to design the end pages, letter from the editor pages, the table of contents, and the exec directory.

TAROT CARDS

Tarot cards have been used for centuries to predict the future, making them perfect for issue 008’s exploration of Time. Each print package came with six unique cards that featured our take on modern Tarot.

Can We Go to the Place Outside of Time?

This project is about the role technology plays in shaping our memories and how the memories themselves become disconnected from reality and time. I took the photos for this project at Coney Island (NYC) in the winter creating a cold, nostalgic feeling. We then combined these photos with screenshots of old text messages as a way of reinterpreting our memories and the times they took place.
